Twenty and five things that should be in your Life

1) A cosy neighborhood cinema that does both popular and off-beat cinema and won’t fleece patrons either, on holidays and weekends.
2) Bookstore with a friendly buzz to it round the block, and open round the clock. A potful of wishful thinking there, I know!
3) A melting pot of ethnically diverse people to call your neighbors.
4) A medium sized IB school for your children that rates diversity above all of its other attributes.
5) The art of writing letters the old fashioned way.
6) Men with the touch and feel and raw physicality of a Josh Lucas, Patrick Dempsey, Dominic Purcell, Jordi Vilasuso, Ragheb Alama or a Omar Abdullah look alike in your life.
7) Life time membership of Ananda spa in the Himalayas.
8) A boulangerie for all seasons serving up freshly baked foccacia with kappi a-la Madras to wash it down with.
9) A 4 day work week.
10) French supervisors who must take a daily 2 hr. lunch break come hell or highwater.
11) Office space on Primrose Hill, Oranienstrasse in Kreuzberg, Omotesando, Gemmayzeh, Hollywood Road or Zamalek ..… go fill in the blank as you like( I will let you in on a secret coz these are the only places I’ve been).
12) A cashmere jacket from the House of Pringle of Scotland or from the House of Something Equally Nice.
13) At least one good boy and girl friend for life.
14) A doting ma and pa and a wonderful caring partner who gives you your space and lets you be.
15) An amazing public library at your disposal with only the civic minded to frequent it.
16) A warm and caring GP and equally; his receptionist.
17) Parks and open spaces in the heart of the city.
18) Safe drinking water anytime anywhere.
19) Two annual foreign vacations one of which is in Europe.
20) Operas and ballets with overhead sub-titles in English.
21) Reasonably good hearing and vision to take you through old age.
22) Men who smell like aromatherapy eau de cologne and women who don’t.
23) Ukdiche Modak, Kanavala ( close cousin of the Palestinian baklava but no cousin of the balaclava), Sea bass a la Harvey Nics in French red with aioli sauce on the side.
24) That autumn breeze blowing in your face as you step out of a warm pub and hit the streets of the West End.
25) That one more thing to yearn for.
