Portraiture of a Caricature

Caricatures of Innocence:

Being a woman- being Indian in America- being a career diplomat- being the next of kin of an ex civil servant- being the beneficiary of affirmative action - being without scruples about most things past and present, that matter in Life(I am thinking bequeathing state property, here).



 

The only loser in this whole shebang is the quest for truth. Nobody who is anybody in this country is remotely interested in knowing the truth- in finding it out to prove innocence err...., to re-validate innocence: they remain certain of innocence that is implicit; a devil may care  attitude for the truth. It is a scary situation where only the rich and the influential and people who can pull strings come away feeling assured of the inheritance of innocence, come-what-may.

Caricatures of Guilt:

Being a man- being Indian in the Persian Gulf (Dubai to be precise)- being without political affiliations and wielding zero corporate clout- being super rich- being born into wealth or old money or nouveau riche- being differently enabled sexually- being of the (right) color in the wrong place- being a pedestrian- being blue collared- being an immigrant.
To cut a long story short, being an accidental non conformist is as guilty as can get.
